Itchy Pig Presents... Vol 31 - NIgel Fischer
May 10, 2013 01:18 AM PDT
Nigel is somewhat of a legend here in Sheffield. Purveyor of many happenings over the years, Nigel has played alongside the best of them which is why we was delighted when he agreed to do us an exclusive mix for our Pigcast series. So rather than waffling on, I shall let the music do the talking. Ladies and gentlemen, Mr Nigel Fischer. Tracklisting: Ytre Rymden Dansskola - Kaluka Madness (Prins Thomas fix)

'Ex-Friendly is a DJ, producer and vocalist who channels his respect for the musicmakers whose contributions laid early groundwork for genres from soul, to R&B, funk and house in his original compositions and edit work. His voice recalls the names Elmore Judd, Hudson Mohawke and Cody Chesnutt, offering the ability to play multi-instrumentalist in a genre where you find few talents able to pad production with their own vocal tones'. Review Aug 2010 www.strangersinstereo.com We couldn't have put it better ourselves. Justin has been on our eye for a while. His mixes are a true journey of sounds and styles and is one for any true lover of sounds. Ladies and gentlemen we bring you EX-FRIENDLY.

Thanks for listening and showing your support. Have a great weekend x Itchy Pig Presents... Vol 29 - Tokyo Matt (Matt Best)February 26, 2013 06:25 AM PST
A simple city boy with wild grown country tastes... " With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy. " -------------------------------- Matt was previously a resident DJ and promoter at the Tokyo based night Right Right Right. He now resides in Hong Kong. Right Right Right was founded in 2006 by Dr Rob & Matt, with the aim of providing an alternative to the New York-orientated House that seemed to dominate Tokyo venues at that time. Not that there`s anything wrong with New York-orientated House, but everyone knows there`s a world of music out there. Matt and Rob wanted to create a night that gave them and their guests the opportunity to play music that they love but that “peak-time” slots might not allow. Guests have included Zecky (RIP), Max Essa, Guy Bassett, Bob Rogue and Dompteur Mooner amongst many others. @tokyomatt -------------------------------- To subscribe to our podcasts: itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/itchy…cast/id462818534 or For more info visit: or or www.twitter.com/itchypigrecords Itchy Pig Presents... Itchy Pig Presents... Vol 24 - Jamie Anderson
November 22, 2012 06:58 AM PST
Jamie Anderson has become somewhat of a household name over the years. Jamie has always been around music form a young age being brought up around musicians covering many different styles. When he seen the opportunity to open up his own studio he did just that. Artform Studios was born. Artoform has put out an endless array of classic sounds over the years and are currently doing a tour to celebrate 15 years since it began. Lucky for us they have chosen to join forces with ourselves for our upcoming Collect! event! and to let you know what to expect (as if you didn't know) he has kindly put together an hour of sounds that energetic it could probably wake the dead. Itchy Pig Presents... Vol 22 - Moid
November 02, 2012 03:00 AM PDT
Every city has its own ways – certain styles – movements – class – and of course music and the people that make it happen. Which brings me on to Manchester. Now this is something close to my heart. After all I am originally from there: born and bread. This is a city that has managed to make a stand for many years through the thick and thin of it. And electronic music certainly has been pushed in various guises throughout the city and beyond by all different walks of life. This person is no different. Although fairly unknown to the scene that is sure to change. Part of the Arthouse collective (http://www.arthouse-music.co.uk/) who run nights in places like The Deaf Institute (if you haven't been to this place then I highly recommend it). Arthouse is run by 3: John Hanley; Jagger And The Bat (Chris & Ben so technically two) and Moid aka Harris. Moid has been kind enough to do us an exclusive mix to show us how he likes to build things up on the floor at his nights. Caressing through dub, chilled sounds to floor serious techno creating a wonderful show of build and style. Enjoy people, the wonderful sounds of Moid. 1. Hatti Vatti feat. Echo Ranks - Great
Itchy Pig Presents... Vol 21 - Bill Brewster (DJ History)
October 05, 2012 02:25 AM PDT
We are very excited about this instalment for sure. I mean who wouldn't be. Bill Brewster is a man that doesn't really need an introduction. But will give one anyone just as its astounding what not only he has achieved but what he has given to the music industry and environment as a whole. One of his early jobs in the industry was running the New York DMC office for a couple of years which is impressive if it was just that alone that he got his fame for but it isn't. DJ, producer, promoter of the infamous Low Life events and writer of such books as Last Night A DJ Saved My Life and more recently running the infamous DJ History website which is essentially a plethora for any music fanatic. Bill's diary is busier than Paris Hilton's single braincell. He has recently finished a tour of Asia plus a string of key events throughout the summer. Next Saturday we are glad to have him come play at our event Collect! in Sheffield however before then we have a treat in store. An exclusive mix from the man himself ahead of his visit to The Steel City. Ladies and Gentlemen, Mr Bill Brewster Itchy Pig Presents... Vol 20 - Michael McLardy
September 14, 2012 03:50 AM PDT
Michael Mclardy. A name that has appeared on the scene from absolutely nowhere in the grand scheme of things. In such a short space of time he has managed to establish himself as one of those to look out for and is getting recognition and support from 'those in the know'. Originally hailing from the north of England, Mr Mclardy has built his career while living in the realms of Nottingham – a place which appears to have a nack to produce and nurture great talent. His first vinyl release (he had a few digital outputs however this he mentions was 'the one that got the ball rolling') was only back in late 2011 (Give Me A Reason on Back To You Records) and has since released music on Alive and Deep Edition (both from opposite ends of the UK) to name a few and has put his remix skills to the test for Suelo in the past and had his tracks tampered with by Moodymanc & DJ W!LD. He has put together mixes for DJ Mag and has built a healthy gig schedule to match the best of them. Delighted must we admit that he agreed to do us a mix for our infamous podcast series ahead of his gig with us at our next Collect! (http://www.facebook.com/events/235838376538694/) and we were not disappointed when we heard the result. They say things improve with age and if that's the case then we cannot wait to see what the future holds for this young Padawan. www.itchy-pig.com

June 01, 2012 07:37 AM PDT
In a day when artists are 10 to the dozen, it is refreshing when someone stands out from the crowd. imagine looking at that crowd and seeing someone be launched into the air with astounding projection. Now change that analogy to that of a musical tale and you have the perfect example of Matt Walsh. Label owner and utterly passionate producer and promoter, we caught up with him ahead of this exclusive mix for a little interview in order to see what makes him tick. Full thing can be read here: http://itchy-pig.com/2012/06/01/matt-walsh-interview-and-exclusive-mix/ 1. Populette – Hells Pass (Items & Things)

May 25, 2012 06:01 AM PDT
Ilya Santana. On some circles he is hardly known (typical with the amount of artists around) yet on most he is is the one who knows what he is doing. Although running Santa Esperanza Records has gathered him some great acclaim on the scene, Ilya's reputation stems way beyond that. A name that is quickly becoming one to be admired, we are proud to have him on board. Not only is he a pleasure to deal with, he also wears his passion in full swing while being one of the most processional people I have come across to date. So, without going on any more. We are totally honoured to present another exclusive mix from the aforementioned great. Ladies and gentlemen Mr Ilya Santana. Clauja Barry_ (Boogie woogie) Dancing shoes
Itchy Pig Presents... Vol 13 Kruse & Nuernberg
April 13, 2012 08:16 AM PDT
Our lovely little podcast series is becoming a standard for great acts from across the board. This one is no different. Itchy Pig is proud to welcome from Hamburg, DJ and producer duo Kruse & Nuernberg have created some of the most interesting deep house around in the past few years, with early highlights including their 'Lovers 'n Fighters' EP on Noir Music or their remix on Om Records for Groove Armada and only recently their EP on Liebe*Detail 'Daze Without You' EP with a great success on Resident Advisor and Beatport just to name a few... With their straight forward, modern approach to house music they caught the attention of some of todays most important underground labels; Lazy Days, Systematic, Mood Music, Rejected, NRK Music, Liebe*Detail, King Street and Kolour Recordings, etc who have all invested in K&N with enough remixes and original productions. Over the past few years Kruse & Nuernberg not only produced remixes for artists like Dennis Ferrer and Groove Armada, for their precious original tracks they also received some great remixes from legendary producers such as Tom Middleton, DJ Sneak, Vincenzo, Julien Chaptal and Fred Everything... Apart from playing numerous gigs on the weekends all over the globe they still manage to spend 5 days a week in the studio to work on their different projects. For instance 'Wiretappeur', a highly successful collaboration between Florian, Nils and greek producer Stelios Vassiloudis is just another proof that too many cooks never spoil the broth. With releases and remixes on John Digweed's imprint Bedrock they have just another high profile label under their belt.
Hot news: The long awaited Kruse & Nuernberg album will be released in June 2012 (collaborations with Stee Downes, Vincenzo & Nathalie Claude) Itchy Pig Records Presents... Vol 11 - Sir Vinyl Instinct
March 05, 2012 07:45 AM PST
Hello and welcome to another addition of our pigcast series. Having not recorded a mix for a while I thought it was about time to get cracking. I have found I tend to DJ completely different out as I would when recording a mix any other time. My sets are known to go all over the place however I thought for this time I would record a straight house set. For some of you younger lot you might want to call some of these tracks 'techno' but it is house plain and simple. I go by the rule of play to yourself and no other. Those that like you will always find you. Some might say it is selfish however I got into music for my own personal enjoyment, not to please everyone else. Some might say that is selfish, I merely think that you should always be true to one self. So hopefully those that know me and follow me will enjoy where this mix comes from. One love, Leeroy aka Sir Vinyl Instinct x Sebbo - Beirut Boogie (Sir Vinyl Instinct's de-cheesed edit)
